Virtues of 'Umrah
The Prophet (peace and
blessings of Allaah be upon him) responded to many of the hadeeths that speak
of the virtues of performing Umrah, and of the reward that a Muslim earns for
performing this ritual. [1] The most prominent of these hadiths: Abu Hurayrah
narrated that the Prophet : "Umrah is an expiation for what is between
them, and the justified pilgrimage has no reward except Paradise." [2] The
Sunan Ibn Majah narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of
Allaah be upon him) said: "The invader in the path of Allah, Hajj and
Umrah. The delegation of Allah called them, " [3] It was narrated by '
Abd-Allaah ibn' Umar from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah
be upon him) that he said:" Whoever travels around the house, " [4]
And what is narrated in Sahih al-Bukhaari from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings
of Allaah be upon him) that he said:" 'Umrah in Ramadaan is a substitute
for Hajj. " [5] It is narrated that ' Aa'ishah bint Abi Bakr narrated that
the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to her in
her Umrah: "The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:
"You have to pay as much as you catch and spend."
Umrah is a visit to the
House of God to perform certain rituals God ordered for the establishment of
the mention, and maximize his home is sacred. And Umrah is obligatory for some
scholars, and a Sunnah that is certain in others, and its great virtue and
repetition in life is more than once permissible and a great reward for the
action of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). And say
(follow between Hajj and Umrah, they deny poverty and sins ... etc.) Narrated
by Tirmidhi. It differs from Hajj in that it is possible for a Muslim to
perform it at any time of the year, as well as that Hajj is imposed on the
Muslim and enough to do even once.
