Virtues of 'Umrah


The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) responded to many of the hadeeths that speak of the virtues of performing Umrah, and of the reward that a Muslim earns for performing this ritual. [1] The most prominent of these hadiths: Abu Hurayrah narrated that the Prophet : "Umrah is an expiation for what is between them, and the justified pilgrimage has no reward except Paradise." [2] The Sunan Ibn Majah narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "The invader in the path of Allah, Hajj and Umrah. The delegation of Allah called them, " [3] It was narrated by ' Abd-Allaah ibn' Umar from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) that he said:" Whoever travels around the house, " [4] And what is narrated in Sahih al-Bukhaari from the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) that he said:" 'Umrah in Ramadaan is a substitute for Hajj. " [5] It is narrated that ' Aa'ishah bint Abi Bakr narrated that the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said to her in her Umrah: "The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: "You have to pay as much as you catch and spend."
